Cold water,
hot sauna, big waves.
Flow Academy's market-based proposal for Big Wave Bay Beach — a year-round wellness and surf sanctuary built on the 1.3-hectare land area, while the sand and swimming zone stay open to all.

A wellness ritual,
earned by the tide.
Flow Academy answers LCSD's call for a market-based operator at Big Wave Bay with a contemporary bath-house culture: cold plunge, sauna, breathwork and a surf programme. Built within the existing beach buildings — leaving the gazetted sand, swim zone and shark net entirely public.

Indoor controlled-temperature plunge pools — usable on red-flag days when the swim zone closes.

Wood-fired sauna, infrared cabin and steam — paired with sea-view recovery decks.

Board hire, lessons and ding repair from the indoor craft storage. Big waves, taught right.

The 0.67 ha swimming zone, shark net and beach access remain open and unrestricted.
A home for surfing
and Olympic sport.
A vision to incubate surfing — and Olympic sport — at Big Wave Bay Beach: safe beach governance, surf safety, and high-performance training facilities for surfers of all levels, from recreational riders to professional athletes. Plus the incubation of surf-related cultural events for the public.

Stationary deep-water wave for technical surf training — Olympic-grade repetition for athletes at every level.

Sheet-wave flowboarding for entry-level riders, schools and family programmes — accessible surf culture, year-round.

Public competitions, festivals and grassroots events that incubate Hong Kong's surf community on home sand.
